Project Lion 2: From Strategy to Execution
A key focus of the conference was Project Lion 2, SBMA’s strategic roadmap to further strengthen Singapore’s position as a leading and trusted precious metals hub in Asia.
The conference presented the Project Lion 2 execution roadmap, highlighting the next phase of work across its five strategic workstreams:
- Clearing, Settlement, Documentation & Trading Practices
- Vaulting & Logistics
- Taxation & Regulation
- Capital Markets & Product Development
- Sustainability & Innovation
The roadmap reflects SBMA’s focus on moving from strategic planning towards tangible implementation, with greater collaboration across industry participants, regulators, financial institutions and market infrastructure providers.
Connecting the Precious Metals Community
Beyond Project Lion 2, APPMC 2026 provided an opportunity for participants to engage with key developments shaping the regional and global precious metals markets.
Discussions across the conference explored the changing dynamics of the gold market, evolving market infrastructure, investment and product development, and the opportunities emerging across Asia-Pacific.
The conference also reinforced the importance of collaboration and connectivity in strengthening the region’s precious metals ecosystem.
Looking Ahead
As Singapore continues to develop its gold-market infrastructure and deepen its connections with international markets, APPMC remains an important platform for bringing together the industry’s stakeholders and advancing dialogue on the future of precious metals in Asia-Pacific.
SBMA thanks all speakers, sponsors, delegates, members and industry partners who contributed to the success of APPMC 2026 and looks forward to continuing the conversation as Project Lion 2 moves into its next phase of implementation.
